Medical RIS Solution

The VSApp Medical RIS Solution is divided into six main modules. These modules are the Scheduling Module, Booking Module, Typing Module, Billing Module, Administration Module, and Reporting Module. Each of these modules interfaces with each other seamlessly and provide an overall solution.

Medical PACS Solution

Using the flexibility and security of the Azure Platform, all DICOM images are received and stored on Canadian servers that use triple redundancy. That means each case is stored on three different storage drives to prevent data loss due to mechanical failure.

The Scheduling Module

This module is accessed through the administrative side of the application. Here you are able to schedule technologists into the clinics along with their start and end times. An added feature to this module is the ability to add reserved time periods for each technologist. These reserved times could be for anything such as breaks, lunch, emergency procedures, meetings, etc. There are many features in this module that will be discussed more in the Administration Module description.

The Booking Module

Working hand in hand with the Scheduling Module, the Booking Module allows the booking agent to easily enter in new appointments, view existing appointments, modify existing appointments, and check patients in when they arrive. Everything is accessed using a user friendly interface featuring point-and-click technology. For instance, to book new patients simply click on an available time, enter in their basic information, and click ‘Add Appointment’. That’s it! When the patient arrives for their appointment all you have to do is select their appointment on the schedule and swipe their OHIP card. For more information, such as their address, you can swipe any Ontario driver’s license and the information will automatically fill in. This module will also handle non-OHIP billings such as FAS, WCB, and custom private billings.

The Typing Module

One of the major benefits of ‘virtual’ software is the ability to access it from any internet connection. As long as the typist has a connection to the internet they can type the reports from anywhere without having any special phone lines or equipment. All the typist needs to do after they log onto the system is select the radiologist they are typing for and either select from a list of appointments or search for the appointment ID. All the information for that appointment is now in front of them so they can be sure they are typing the correct appointment. The report is typed directly into the system and once they are done it is saved with the appointment and is marked ready for billing.

The Billing Module

In Ontario based clinics, submissions are automatically submitted by the system on a weekly basis. When rejection files are received from the Ministry of Health, they are automatically updated in the system to be corrected by the staff. By using real-time health card validation, health cards are validated against the Ministry database at time of registration, so there are fewer rejections. For Clinics outside of Ontario, we will custom program the submission system to work with your provincial Ministry systems.

The Administration Module

This is the backbone of the software. Almost anything in the entire system can be modified from this module. Here you have access to who can access the system and what privileges they have. You can add or modify technologists and set what procedures they are allowed to perform. You can create your own custom clinic procedures. Each clinic procedure may be made up of multiple OHIP codes such as an ‘Echo’ clinic procedure consisting of ‘G570’, ‘G571’, ‘G577’, and ‘G578’. Now when the booking agent needs to book a patient for an Echo they don’t need to know the OHIP code, they simply select Echo from the list. For private billing you can add or modify private billings and even create custom private billings for certain clinics or for certain procedures.

The Reporting Module

The application comes with a dynamic reporting feature that takes into account almost every possible search combination. As part of the monthly software support contract you can request any custom report change added to your reporting module. This is important if there is a common report that is accessed often. All reports are printable and are personalized with your clinic name and logo.
